Big Boi was all about the Killer Sharks

While the on stage action at the KROQ Epicenter Twenty Ten was absolutley scorching, the backstage artist lounge was cool as could be. Who am i kidding? It was 100 degrees in the shade, but what was cool was getting to meet a bunch of the bands. Here’s a collection of images of bands and artists that were hyping Freestyle including Big Boi, The Knux, The Envy, Rise Against, Suicidal Tendencies and even Eminem’s Guitar Player! The new Killer Sharks and Karltons were a big hit!

Touch Screen Watches

28 Sep

Time to spill the beans. Knowing how much you love your i-phones, droids, and other touch screen devices, we have been working on a new touch screen watch technology called Digi-Touchâ„¢. We are excited to announce 2 new touch screen watch designs coming out in late October through early November called The Tangent and The Response. More info to come soon, but here’s a taste of what is to come for Holiday 2010.

Tick Tock Official Teaser

Freestyle's Tick Tock Snowboard Film Teaser

The gears of winter have started to spin..

As promised here’s the official teaser for our snow flick, Tick Tock. We put this together as a grassroots project to feature riders and friends from around the globe. We’d like to thank Davis Paul for his commitment to coordinating and editing (some filming too!) the entire project, as this would not be possible without his hard work. So far the response has been awesome with both Snowboard Mag and Transworld Snowboarding putting the video on their home pages. We can’t wait to see the finished product.

KROQ Epicenter Twenty Ten – Eminem

26 Sep

Day one is in the books and it was a whopper. It was hotter than hot out in Fontana, but nothing was hotter than Eminem’s set once the sun went down. The guy ruled it, playing some new stuff alongside all his biggest hits. Definitely the highlight of the day. We are heading out for KROQ Epicenter Twenty Ten day 2 now, preparing to sweat in the shade. Ya, it’s worth it. Here’s a low budget snippet of Eminem performing Not Afraid cut short by running out of memory.

KROQ Epicenter Twenty Ten Sound Check

25 Sep

Yesterday while setting up our backstage artist lounge area, we were more than pleasantly surprised. Right when we showed up, the early 90’s band Bush was sound checking. Now the band Bush brings back memories off 1992, but hearing them sound check was totally 2010. Hearing Gavin Rossdale rip his guitar and vocals across the empty festival was way cool. Unfortunately, we have no Gwen Stefani siting to report.

Freestyle Mariner of the Year

Surfing Catamaran

Give this guy an award!

It’s hard to believe this footage was uploaded over a year ago but is just now making the rounds. This mariner has a ton of guts to take his $500,000 Catamaran surfing. We need to track this guy down, he is clearly the perfect candidate to further test our latest sailing inspired watch, The Mariner. Good on ya mate!

Tick Tock Snowboard Movie

Lights, Camera, Action! Tick Tock is coming soon!

If you agree that fall is just the season that leads us to winter, then you’ll agree that snow season is just right around the corner. With that in mind we are about launch the 2nd teaser for our snow flick, Tick Tock. Arguably the greatest no-budget snow flick ever created, Tick Tock message is simple, snowboarding is fun! Here’s the first teaser we released last winter, be on the lookout for teaser number 2 followed by the full length feature directed and edited by the multi-talented and ultra resourceful Davis Paul.

Nic Lamb - Earning his spot in the Mavericks 12

Today is the first day of fall, which really only means we are that much closer to winter; that much closer to the 2010/11 Mavericks contest, which if it’s anything like last year, will be something you don’t want to miss. As if it needs anymore hype, the crew at Ruse Entertainment just turned it up a notch by releasing their teaser for the Mavericks 12, a series of edits featuring the 12 alternates for the Mavericks Contest. Even being an alternate to this contest is an honor, here’s a look into the lives of these guys including our very own Nic Lamb, who deserves it as much as anybody.

Where did the oil go?

17 Sep

Cory Lopez wondering where all the BP oil has gone

How does that much oil just dissapear?

That’s the big question isn’t it? Months of catastrophic claims of oil spewage and while some oil washed ashore, the rest is just simply missing? Of course there’s plenty of rumors flying around but this one seems pretty valid…it’s sitting on the ocean floor! Makes my gut spin, hopefully nature will be able to absorb and revive itself so the junk doesn’t make it’s way to our coastlines like it does in this doomsday public service announcement by Surfrider featuring Cory Lopez.
