Sage Erickson wins US Open of Surfing Pro Jr. Women
9 Aug
At arguably the biggest surfing event in history, Sage Erickson surfed to victory in the 2010 US Open of Surfing Pro Junior Women. By far the most prestigious win of Sage’s young career, with the estimated crowd on the beach over 100,000, it’s safe to say she’ll remember this one for a long long time. Check out the event wrap-up featuring the below photo on Surfline.
As one of Sage’s proud sponsors, throughout the week we got to spend some time snapping images for an upcoming ad campaign. This was last Thursday, and we joked about how cool it would be for Sage to win while wearing the new Shark Bling. She said, “well that’s exactly what I’m going to try to do!”, and dog gone it she gone done do it!
Despite the event being held in Huntington Beach, Sage spends a lot of time working on her skills at Lower Trestles. We shot this a couple weeks back when Sage was running mock US Open heats with coach Ian Cairns. It’s pretty clear that the extra work has paid off big time!
Congrats to Sage Erickson from the entire Freestyle crew!
