FREESTYLE MOVES OFFICE AND ACQUIRES ANOTHER NEW TEAM MEMBER

Newport Beach, California

As the Freestyle brand continues to grow and flourish, it announces its new Southern California office and the hiring of Helen Sun as director of design and product development.

Located in Newport Beach, the office is now in a prime location in the heart of the Orange County action sports industry with close proximity to the core media, key accounts and great surf.  Previously, the brand’s office had been located in Ventura, Calif.

Helen Sun, a native Californian who freelanced for Freestyle several years ago when the company was based in Ventura, has resurfaced to take the helm of the design and product development department.  Previously, Sun was senior designer for both the Ironman and fitness lines at Timex.  During her four and a half year tenure at Timex, Sun was instrumental in building the Ironman Sleek line from the ground up, developing “true” women’s performance watches, and broadening the Timex sports brand.

With a degree from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in industrial design, Sun got her start in consumer electronics.  She looks forward to bringing her solid skills and expertise to Freestyle and helping the brand continue to enhance its momentum in the surf market.
