Skyler Siljeg
Skyler started skating when he was 4-years-old thanks to his big brother Josh, who got him his first skateboard. Skyler told his family over dinner that day that he would practice every day (even on his birthday) until he went pro. He has stuck to that pledge. The first contest Skyler entered, he was by far the smallest and youngest in the competition but he took 4th place, but that was all he needed to cement his drive.
Now thirteen, Skyler stands ready to join the ranks of his skate heroes as he rides the World Cup. Preferring bowl riding to street skating, Skyler spends at least two hours a day after school on his board, but he loves it too much to call it practice. Skyler recently won the Tiger Woods Start Something Great award for teaching skaters and has starred in the "Kids Who Rip" video. One of Skyler’s best qualities is how caring he is of other kids. He will help others learn a trick when he should be practicing himself. He even gave his prize board to a younger competitor at a competition because his board was too big for him. Skyler wants kids to have as much fun as he does – reaching for the Sky!
Skyler plans on going to college so he can start his own business. Keep an eye on him as he adds more tricks to his growing repertoire.
